About Me:
I am a writer.
I wish it was that simple.
But I'm very glad it's not. While searching for how to publish RMOS, I discovered that I had options. Traditional (agent, publishing house, etc.), and Independent (also referred to as Indie or Self-published).
I am a pretty independent person, but the word 'Independent' before the word 'Publisher' was intriguing and terrifying. Do it myself? By myself? Really? I love independent movies, if that's at all relative- but I've never linked 'independence' (or a lack thereof) to books. I was more curious than a cat.
There is a huge stigma against self-published writers which worried me quite a bit. Would it be worth it if people only focus on that as though I'm some sort of leper? I've spent the last few years reading everything I could, following blogs, buying magazines and books, researching on the internet, and compiling advice from the experts. Worries aside, there was a lot to consider. The more I delved, the more I liked what I read, and I fell right off my fence and into the world of Indie-hood. And this is where I am. Midnight Tomorrow Books! Publishing myself, by myself, with my own certified business.
Up until a couple years ago, I had no idea how much work goes into turning a computer file into a printed book. My respect for agents and larger houses has gone up tremendously. And my views towards Indies- and all authors as a whole- has also elevated. Being an author is not as simple as just being a writer. I'm now also a publisher (graphic designer-, web designer-, blogger-, publicist-, marketing specialist-....ish). I have an immense amount of pride in my work, and have many stories to share.
Because I am both a writer and a publisher, with full control over both domains, I can also do things my way. Having readers is imperative, and I'm grateful to have you. So I'm structuring this to be inclusive and interactive, to provide details not in the books, and just to have a little fun. I'll be adding forums and Member's Only-type features, as well as a photo contest.
This website will therefore always be something of a work in progress as I improve and add to it. I hope you continue to stop by, say hi, read the blogs, or just browse around. And then continue to do so while reading RMOS, and after, as I add content to coincide with the book!
Thank you for visiting!
